MILDRED A. LAU, 96

Mildred A. Lau, 96, of Blair, died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at Good Shepherd Home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at First Christian Church in Blair, with interment in the Blair Cemetery.

Mildred A. (Anderson) Lau was born in Washington County to Jens and Jennie (Jacobson) Anderson.

She attended Gardner School in rural Washington County and graduated from Blair High School in 1926. She then attended Dana College for two years.

She lived and worked in Omaha for a number of years at a variety of jobs including International Harvester and the Bee News before marrying Leonard D. Lau in Omaha on April 17, 1942.

In 1956, she returned to Blair where she worked for 17 years at the Washington County Courthouse for Roy I. Andersen and Greg Drew before her retirement in the early 1970s.

Her final two years were spent in the loving care of the staff of Good Shepherd Home.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, grandson and wife; granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; three brothers, Ray, Viggo, and Russell Anderson; and two sisters, Olga (Anderson) Frahm and Betty Anderson.
