James W. Burns, 75, of 675 Lynn, died at 3:45 p.m. Monday at Veterans Hospital.
Burns was a former Louisville policeman. He retired in 1958 after 33 years
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Sunset Masonic Lodge 915.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lois Edwards, a son, James B Burns, nine
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Arch L. Heady Okolona Funeral Home,
8519 Preston Highway, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The body will be at the
funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
