Services for Ed McMullen, age 70, of Blair, who died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, January 8, 1995 will be held Wednesday, January 11 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church with burial in the Blair Cemetery.
Ed McMullen was born in Marion, Indiana August 23, 1924 to Raymond and Charlotte Hind McMullen.
He married Phyllis Rasmussen August 11, 1948, in Blair.
He served in the Marines during World War II in the South Pacific, where he received the Purple Heart.
In 1954 he graduated from Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska.
He worked with NAPA Auto Supply in Omaha, Nebraska for 20 years. He then operated the NAPA store in Blair from 1978-1988. Most recently, he sold real estate in the Blair area for Century 21.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, having served as Sunday School Superintendent for eight years. He was also a member of the Blair Rotary.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold; and son Robert.
Surviving him in death is wife, Phyllis; daughter Lauren Backman, Blair, Nebraska; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sandy McMullen, Herman, Nebraska; grandchildren, Randy Backman, Aubrey Backman, and Matthew McMullen; sister LaRae Smith, Sweetser, Indiana and brother, Lyle, Buchanan, Michigan.
Services are being handled by Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.
