Obituary

LORAIN - Christine M. Saltis-Simonovich (nee Kozloski), 82, of Lorain, died Monday, August 26, 2013 at St. John Westshore Hospital in Westlake.

She was born December 25, 1930 in Plaines, PA and had resided in Lorain since childhood.

Christine worked at Lorain County Community College as a secretary for 20 years retiring in 1992.

She was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain where she sang in the church choir, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain, United Polish Club, Polish American Citizens Club, American Slovak Club, Lakeland Women's Club, VFW Post #451 Ladies Auxiliary all of Lorain and the Amherst Eagles. She enjoyed spending time with her family, golf, bowling and crafts.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years George Simonovich; children Gregory Saltis, David Saltis, Debra (Paul) Janner, Renee (John) Bauer, Brian (Michele) Saltis, Mary (Robert) Anderson, Del (Jill) Simonovich and Carla (Michael) Rock; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and brother Robert Kozloski.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Raymond Saltis in 1971; parents Walter & Mary Kozloski (nee Jakuboski); and brothers Louis, Vincent and Henry "Hank" Kozloski.

The family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Additional calling hours will be held Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Richard Hudak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
