Charleston,Woodward, OK On November 16, 1907 the Harper County was formed out of parts of Woodward and Woods counties. The community of Charleston (then part of Woodward county) became a part of Harper County. In 1920, a town named Selman was created where Charleston was known to be, and Charleston is now a defunct town. A lot of family records indicate they were buried in Charleston, Woodward County, Oklahoma. This note is to explain the descrepancy between the two notations. The current location/town as of 2013 is Selman, Harper, Oklahoma. There is only one cemetery in Selman, OK. Spring Valley Cemetery only host 8 marked graves, 2 of which are John and Lovina on the same stone.
