Hannah was the 5th child born to William and Rachael T. Shaw Mitten. She was married to Hannaball R. Jackson on August 21, 1874* in Clinton County, Indiana, with F. M. Rule Pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church officiating. She and Hannaball had one child, a daughter Clarinda Jane Jackson. Hannah was a beautiful woman who died at the age of 22.

*Note: This date could be wrong. The marriage license lists application date of July 7, 1873 and that the certificate of marriage was filed in the clerk's office on Dec. 15, 1873. They might have married Aug. 21, 1873.
