MRS. MAUD FRENCH
Mrs. Walter (Eva Maud) French, 88 died Thursday, Jan. 13 in Appleton City.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1883, the eldest daughter of Andrew J. and Mary Ann Bradbury in Brosley, which was located about four miles north of Drexel. When she was eight years old, the family moved to a farm north of Main City where she attended district school. She later attended college at Merwin and Warrensburg and taught in district schools near her home for five years.
She joined the Everett Christian Church at an early age and at the time of her death was a member of the Harrisonville Christian Church.
She married Walter W. French on Feb. 20, 1907, and they were parents of four daughters. For 53 years they lived on a farm northwest of Archie but after their retirement, moved to Harrisonville.
Mrs. French was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Lee Bradbury, a sister, Sallie Limpus. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Mary Calhoun, Montrose; Mrs. Thelma Kappelman, Mrs. Willa Lee Graham, and Mrs. Virginia Galbreath, Des Moines, Iowa, four granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Atkinson-Dickey Chapel in Harrisonville Saturday, Jan. 15, with Rev. Charles Pence of Appleton City officiating. Burial was at the Oakland cemetery in Harrisonville.
