Troy Alan Osborn, 32, of Ames, died of carbon monoxide poisoning on Saturday, Aug. 26, at his home in Ames. The death has been ruled a suicide.
He was born Jan. 23, 1968, to Donna (Johnson) Halsrud. He served in the U.S. Navy and married Leigh M. Olson on May 20, 1994, in Ames. He was a supervisor for U.S. Filter in Ames. He was a lifelong resident of Story County. His main interest was his children.
Survivors include his wife, Leigh of Ames; a daughter, Lauren Osborn and a son, Griffin Osborn, both at home; his mother and stepfather, Donna and Nick Halsrud of Nevada; two brothers, Todd Osborn of Justyn Jarnagin, both of Nevada; a grandmother, Marie Johnson of Nevada; and many friends.
His grandfather, Charles Johnson; and a niece, Shalbe Jarnagin, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Chet Ryan Mortuary with Chaplain David Burling officiating. Burial followed in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
