YORK, ARTHUR DAVIS - Private
Son of John and Catherine Cook York; born April 2, 1896, Perry County, Ind. Working at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, when he was called into service in March 1918, and returned to Cannelton, Ind. Sent to Camp Greene, N. C.; assigned to Company H, 59th Infantry. Sailed overseas early in June 1918; attached to the First Division. Killed in action October 4, 1918, Bois de Fays, in the Argonne Forest. (Burial place unknown.)
