LAVERS, Ruby Kathleen Mary — 89, of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born May 12, 1922, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Graham and Agnes (Gray) Singer. Ruby's great joy in life was her family and raising her children. She was always there for them. Ruby enjoyed a good game of 45's or crazy eights with anyone that would come in to play and chat. On their way out the door she always sent them with an armload of baking, which was also another passion of hers. She is survived by daughters, Doris (Joe) Fischer, Ontario; Carol (Dale) White, Brooklyn; sons, Robert "Bob" (Diana) Lavers, Garlands Crossing; John (Jana) Lavers, Ontario; Rupert "Butch" (Betty), Ellershouse; William "Bill" (Kim), Ellershouse; Christopher "Chris", Martock; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by husband, Clifford W. Lavers (2000); daughter, Anna in infancy; son, Clifford in infancy; sisters, Eva (Morton) Morris, Agnes (Charles) Davidson, Elsie (Don) Brown, Jean (George) Mason; brothers, Graham (Pauline) Singer, Norman Singer, John in infancy. Visitations were held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012 in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Debra Mosher officiated. A private family burial was held in the Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Donations in Ruby's memory were requested to be made to the Dykeland Lodge (Wallace Place), Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society.
