ANNA ALMES LYONS, 79, of Indiana, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 1984, in the Indiana Hospital. A daughter of Willurias and Sarah Anna Bowman Shirley, she was born May 24, 1904, in Conemaugh Township. Mrs. Lyons had lived most of her life in Saltsburg before moving to Indiana and was a member of the Saltsburg Baptist Church and the Homemakers Club of Getty Heights. Surviving are two sons: Harry L. and Alvin Almes, both of Indiana; one daughter, Miss Sarah Lyons, Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers: Willis Shirley, Florida; J. Robert Shirley, Saltsburg; three sisters; Mrs. Ruth Palmer, Blairsville; Mrs. Elizabeth Manning and Mrs. Esther Campbell, both of Charleston, S.C. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry L. Almes in 1935 and her second husband, Samuel H. Lyons in 1969. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Joseph Setzer and Rev. Donald G. Miles will officiate with interment in the Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg.
