Grady Ball, 67, of Newport, went to be with the Lord Friday morning March 1, 2002. Mr. Ball was a painter and a Baptist by faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and PollyAnn Ball; two sisters and brothers, Alice Ramsey and Etta Hudson and Gar and Ailor Ball.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Garno) Ball, of Newport; one son, Grady Ball, of Newport; one daughter, Connie Branum, also of Newport; stepchildren, Rhonda and Floyd Combs, of Parrottsville, Vicky and Tom Shehee, of Newport, Donna and Bill Warner, of Illinois, and Melvern and Eucice Dalrymple, of Newport; two sister, Vondol and Oscar Clowers, of Knoxville and Valorie Campbell, of Siverville; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Ray Hall, of Newport; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening March 3, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be conducted Monday, March 4, 2002, at 2 p.m. Rev. Johnny Ellison will officiate. Interment will follow in Parrottsville Memorial Cemetery.
