Daniel Boardman was born in Wethersfield, Connecticut, the son of Hannah (Wright) and Daniel Boardman of that town. He graduated Yale University in 1709. On Nov 1, 1812 he married Jerusha Sherman in New Milford, daughter of (Mercy Wheeler?) and Deacon David Sherman of Stratford, CT. Daniel and Jerusha had several children, including one son, Sherman Boardman. In 1713 Mr. Daniel Boardman was given land and a house in New Milford on the condition that he become New Milford's "minister of the place" for 20 years. In 1716, the First Church of Christ (Congregational) was organized by eight men and five women with Reverend Daniel Boardman as pastor. Reverend Boardman died Aug 25, 1744 in New Milford.
