Raymond G. Wilson, 86, of Blair died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the First Baptist Church in Blair.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, beginning at noon, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Raymond G. Wilson was born July 8, 1924, on the Wilson family farm to Glen and Hannah (Mathiesen) Wilson. The farm was homesteaded by Robert and Julia (Hooks) Wilson, Raymond's grandparents. In 1989, Raymond and his wife received Ak-Sar-Ben's Pioneer Farm Family Award.
He attended the Summers School and graduated from Blair High School in 1941. He farmed with his father.
On July 22, 1945, he married Marian Bayer and the couple lived northwest of Blair where they built their home themselves in 1960.
Mr. Wilson was an active member in Riverview Grange for 50 years. He was also very active in the Republican Party and just received his lifetime award.
He was dedicated and baptized at First Baptist Church where he served as a board member for several years. He also served on the Burt County Coop for several years.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marian, of Blair; son, Norman, of Arvado, Colo.; daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Jerry Glover of Blair; granddaughters, Sarah and John Polli of Golden, Colo., Maggie Revious of Louisville, Colo., Makayla and Travis Greer of Logan, Iowa, Stephenie Johnson of Blair; great-grandchildren, Ashtynn, Ryland, Hannah, Maggie, Dylan, Rae of Logan; special family, Dave, Rachel and Gabe Aten; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Erma and Bud Moser of Omaha, Kathy Bayer of Mesa, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church and the Blair Fire and Rescue Squad.
