Walter D. Camp, 86, of Burlington, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born January 16, 1918 in Reinbeck, Iowa, he was the son of Charles C. and Dorothy DeWolf Camp. On November 24, 1940, he married Jean M. Hugg in Burlington. She died on October 26, 1975. On October 24, 1981, he married Jeanette A. Pitzer in Burlington.

Mr. Camp owned Camp Superior Cleaners for 36 years.

He was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ and served on the church board, Shutterbug Camera Club, Rotary, and was past president of Illowaimo Unit of WBCCI Airstream Club. He was a Boy Scout leader at Grimes School and chairman of the 100th year anniversary of St. Luke UCC. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one grandson.
