Sarah was the daughter of John and Mary Ann Andrew. She married Charles Dent in 1890 in Cuba City, WI. They were the parents of Earl and Marianne. She married 2nd Robert Pearce in 1902 in Cuba City, WI. They were the parents of William John, Florence, Lawrence, Edgar, and Frank.

Aug 18, 1960 - Pomeroy Herald - Mrs. Sadie Pearce, resident of Pomeroy for many years, died in Loring Hospital in Sac City Thursday Aug 11 after a months illness. For over three years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Earl Galbraith, at Sac City, often spending several weeks at a time in the homes of her other children.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Aug. 14, 1:15 at the Michael Funeral Home in Pomeroy and at 1:30 in Wesley Methodist church, the Rev. George Den Hartog in charge. Mrs. David Holtapp was at the organ and soloist was Mrs. Harold Aljets who sang "Be Still, My Soul" and "Have Thine Own Way". In charge of flowers were Mrs. W.G. Loots, Mrs. John Geick, Mrs. Wendel Stuart, Mrs. Sara Allen and Ella Ivey. Pallbearers were John Drommer, John Geick, Elmer Anderson, G.R. Johnson, Bert Drommer, and Clair Drommer. Interment was in Union Cemetery beside her husband who died in 1929.

Sara C. Pearce was born August 1, 1870, at Hazel Green, Wisc., the daughter of John and Mary Ann Andrew. She was at the time of her death 90 years and 11 days old. She was married in 1890 to Charles Dent of Cuba City, Wisc., and widowed six years later.

To this union were born one son, Earl Calvert who died in infancy, and Irma Marianne, now Mrs. Earl Galbraith of Sac City. Following the death of her husband she owned and operated a millinery store in Cuba City.

In 1902 she was married to Robert C. Pearce at Cuba City where they made their home for a time. Later they came to Pomeroy where all their children were born. One son, William John, 16, died of pneumonia in 1924 when the family lived at Greenfield. As a family they were active in church and community life.

In 1920 the family left Pomeroy for several years. At the time of Mr Pearce's death they lived in Sac City. After his death, Mrs Pearce was engaged in practical nursing in and near Pomeroy, retiring about four years ago to make her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Earl Galbraith at Sac City.

She is survived by two daughters, Irma Galbraith of Sac City and Florence Lohr of Adel; three sons, Lawrence R and Edgar J of Des Moines and Frank a Mountain Home, Idaho; 16 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and other relatives.

Her parents, her husband, one son, and two brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Pearee was a loyal and active member of Wesley Methodist church. Her greatest happiness was in doing things for her family and friends.

Out of town relatives here for the services included Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Pearce and family, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Pearce and Susan of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Galbraith, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Galbraith and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown and family of Sac City, Mr. and Mrs. G.C. Lohr of Adel, Frank A. Pearce of Mountain Home, Idaho, Harry F. Andrew and Hazel Willey of Cuba City, Wisc., Mr. and Mrs. William L. Pearce, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cogley, Mrs. Robert Buchan, Mrs. Max Rutledge and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Freimuth and children of Des Moines, Mrs. Eldon Triggs of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and others from nearby towns.
