Her family moved to Covington before she completed high school, and she graduated from Covington High School. Upon graduation, she enrolled in a registered nurses program at Bellevue Hospital, New York. Upon completion, she was employed by the City of New York.
In 1934, she married Edward W. Mundie of Blacksburg, who survives.
Mrs. Mundie was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Craig Streett of Carmel, Ind.; two grandchildren, Karen Streett of Arlington, Blaine Streett of San Jose, Calif.
Mrs. Mundie was a member of the Blacksburg United Methodist Church. Over the years, she has been active in numerous civic/community organizations.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 10, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Blacksburg United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Herbert Hobbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for the research of macular diseases, in care of Dr. Richard Bone, Florida International University, Department of Physics, CP-204, Miami, FL. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
