James D. Timmerman, 69, of Shelby, died early Sunday morning, January 31, 2010, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born July 11, 1940, in Spencerville, Indiana, he was the son of Charles Allen and Marjorie Irene (Furnish) Timmerman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Jim was an insurance salesman, retiring from Bankers Life and Casualty after 38 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. Jim was a member of the Concord Lodge #556, F. & A.M.

He is survived by his wife, Ann (Sizemore) Timmerman of Shelby; daughter, Tawnya Bowling of Shelby; son, Troy Timmerman of Columbus; grandchildren, Tasha Bowling of Columbus, Ashley (David) Hines of Lexington, Christopher Bowling of Shelby, and Jacqui and Sydney Timmerman, both at home; a great-granddaughter, Kaydence Hines; six sisters, Eloise Fry of Butler, IN, Patricia (Robert) Melchi of Spencerville, IN, Shirley (Jack) Zimmerman and Darlene (Ronald) Zimmerman, all of Kingman, AZ, Loree (Don) Baker of Bremerton, WA and Sharon Snyder of Leo, IN; three brothers, Victor (Loretta) Timmerman of Butler, IN, Howard (Barbara) Timmerman and Keith (Sue) Timmerman, all of Spencerville, IN; two brothers-in-law, John (Roberta) Sizemore of Gulfport, MS and James (Jewell) Sizemore of Nancy, KY; three sisters-in-law, Doris (Ned) Legg of Bremerton, WA, Judy Harris of Indianapolis, IN and Linda (Don) Becker of Lexington, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Norma Dickson, Mozella Edgar and Anita Fry; brother, Louis Timmerman; and daughter-in-law, Kristina Timmerman.

Memorial services conducted by Rev. David Root will be held Thursday, February 4, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
