Élida Louise (Thibodeau) Cormier, best known as 'Ida', was a native of St-Léonard-Parent in New Brunswick, Canada, where she lived out her entire life.
At age eighteen, Ida exchanged wedding vows with Ubalde Cormier. Together the two estab- lished themselves on a farm in Saint-Léonard-Parent, where Ida gave birth to thirteen child- ren (two of whom died as infants and one as a young teen).
Ida Cormier passed away in 1957, at the age of seventy-two, from a meningocerebral hem- orrhage. At the time of her death, she and her husband had been married for nearly fifty-four years.
