Tia Lynn Monday, 43, of Sulpher Springs passed away on August 13, 2013 at her residence following a long battle with cancer. She was born on January 14, 1970 in Greenfield, Indiana to James and Janice (Young) Smith. Tia graduated from Pendleton Heights in 1988. She held various positions at St. John's Hospital in Anderson. Tia enjoyed time with her children, farm life and was a fan of #14s Tony Stewart and AJ Foyt and was a member of the Indiana Horse Racing Commission and The Jockey Club and co-owner of Mean Streak Thoroughbred and Quarterhorse Racing Farms. Tia is survived by her husband, Mike Monday parents James and Janice Smith of Greenfield, IN, children, Jessica (Tyler) Powell of New Castle, IN, Shelbie Monday, Gage Monday, Colton Monday, Cale Monday all at home, brother, Brendan (Carolyn) Smith, sister, Wendy (Kent) Ham, all of Greenfield, grandmother, Elsie Jean Young, of Morristown and Jack Shannon of Phoenix, Arizona and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces. She was preceded in death by previous husband, Ethan Shannon, maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.
