Alice H. Anderson, 95 of Adams, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at the Adams Health Care Center.
She was born March 16, 1905 at Adams to Enoch and Maria (Kleppe) Thorson and lived her entire life in the Adams community. She was baptized at the Little Cedar Country Church in April of 1905 and confirmed in Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams on 5/11/1919.. She attended grade school and graduated Adams High School. On March 11, 1925, she married Arnold Anderson. They lived on their farm west of Adams until they moved to Adams in 1982, where she resided until moving to Cedar Court Apartments. For the past nine months she resided at the Adams Health Care Center. As a lifetime member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church, she was active in ALCW and circle activities as well as teaching Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed family and friends, reading, gardening, and playing scrabble.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Willard and Bethel Anderson, St. James; daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Robert Hanson, Adams; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; a sister, Marian Carroll of Austin; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arnold Anderson; son, Paul Anderson; granddaughter, Ann Hanson; a sister and three brothers.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Little Cedar Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard M Kestner officiating. Soloist will be June Wolf. Organist will be Joyce Edland. Casket bearers: Douglas Hanson, Kim Anderson, Sarah, Hanson, Laura Hanson, Reed Hanson, Noel Anderson.
Interment: Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery in Adams.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home and at the church Monday one hour before services.
