3 Jan. 1917 husband John dies in Ottumwa, IA. Sarah moves to Kansas with daughter Flora (Reno) Stewart. Flora dies 23 Apr 1923 and is buried in Ottumwa next to her father.
Sarah moves to Stockton, CA with her only remaining child. Minnie (Loftus) Stafford. Sarah Jane passes away on 10 June 1928.
