Private Charles Warren Brush was the son of Elizabeth Otterman and William May Brush. He married widow Keziah Goff Malcolm on 12 Feb 1852 and the pair had at least 8 children together before Charles was drafted into the Civil War.
Charles served with the 50th Regiment, Illinois Infantry, Company G. He died the 11 Jan 1865 and was buried in the Soldier's Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Section B, Cemetery #333. Original papers suggest he served in Company B, with the 50th Illinois at the time of his death. Veterans Grave Records shows his burial at Section B Site 586 of New Albany National Cemetery, Indiana.
Children include Elizabeth (Daron), William Mason, Miles Vernon, Alcinda (Taylor), John Riley, Levi Simpson, Elvessa (Died in Childhood) and Rebecca Jane (Darnold).
