Joyce Marie Johnson was born April 10, 1958 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Joe Ollie Johnson and Maggie Lean Burks Johnson.
Joyce was reared in Malvern all her life and as a child she attended New Hope Baptist Church and later in life she joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J. H. White where she was active in the youth department, choir and loved to sing. Her favorite song was "I've Got Peace Of Mine".
Joyce was a 1976 graduate of Malvern High School and worked at the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs, Arkansas as a housekeeper. Joyce was a lover of people and had a beautiful personality, She loved to cook and feed her children and family. She never forgot about Special Days that meant a lot to her she was a giver from her heart.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents the late Joe Ollie Johnson, Sr. and Maggie Lean Burks Johnson, sister Annie Ruth Burns, and brother Willie Albert Johnson.
Joyce a devoted and loving mother leaves to cherish her memories two children: Michael Brandon Smith of Malvern, Arkansas and Richelle Shuntakia Vaden of Clarksville, Arkansas; four brothers: Henry Cooksey of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Joe Ollie Johnson, Jr. of San Angelo, Texas, Johnny Lee Johnson, Kenneth (Annette) Johnson both of Malvern, Arkansas; six sisters: Cora Mae Johnson of Hollywood, California, Bessie Kinsey of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Patricia Ann Hill (Hollis)Ivory of Malvern, Arkansas, Janet Louise Johnson of Richmond, California, Mary Lynn Johnson of Malvern, Arkansas and Jo-Ann Johnson of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two aunts Ms. Christine Carson and Ms. Corene Hughes both of Malvern, Arkansas; one granddaughter Iyce Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
