Falls native, 71, attended Trott High

Stella Clara Kochan, 71 of Ferry Avenue, died Friday (February 2, 1990) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
She was born in Niagara Falls and attended Holy Trinity Parochial School and Trott Vocational High School.
She lived on Ferry Avenue for 42 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Portage Post and the Niagara Golden Stars.
She was the wife of the late Walter Kochan, daughter of the late Hipolit and Agnes (Gondek) Sobieniak, mother of the late John, Thomas, and Barbara Kochan and sister of the late Irene Jekielek and Edward Sobieniak.
Mrs. Kochan is survived by a son, Ronald Kochan of Lewiston; a daughter, Patricia Cooper of Brantford, Ont.; four sisters, Lottie Fura of Wheatfield, and Helen Madej, Jessie Pyrciak and Adele Pietraszewski, all of Niagara Falls, a brother Henry Sobieniak of Niagara Falls, and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Tubinis Funeral Home, 1636 Falls Street. A funeral will be held at 8:45 a.m. Monday at the funeral home and at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Rosary Church, 339 22nd Street.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 339 22nd St., for Stella C. Kochan, 71. Prayers will be said at 8:45 in the Tubinis Funeral Home, 1646 Falls St. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
She died Friday (Feb. 2, 1990) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Kochan was a member and past president of the Auxiliary of Portage Post 1465, American Legion. .
Mrs. Kochan also was a member of the Niagara Golden Years Club. She was the widow of Walter Kochan.
Survivors include a son, Ronald of Lewiston; a daughter, Patricia Cooper of Brantford, Ont.; a brother, Henry Sobieniak; four sisters, Lottie Fura of Wheatfield, Helen Madej, Jessie Pyrciak and Adela Pietraszewski, and seven grandchildren.
