Isaac was a veteran of the Civil War. After the war he worked to get the Churches organized and back to normal. He was the first Moderator of the Eastern District Association of Primative Baptist after it was reorganized. He served as Moderator from about 1880 until 1887 when he died. After the War he moved to Hancock County near Swan Creek Church where he is buried.
