Frances Ivy Ridulph, 93, of Sycamore, Ill., passed away peacefully in her Lord on Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center in DeKalb.

Born June 13, 1913, in Independence, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Stettler) Fenner.

She spent most of her life in Sycamore, having moved there in 1938. In 1939, she married Michael Ridulph. Together they owned and operated the Hamburger Shop of Sycamore and then the Parkside Restaurant of Sycamore while raising their family. She was a leader of Brownies, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. Later, she worked as a bookkeeper, retiring from Farmers Grain and Lumber. After retirement she volunteered at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in the gift shop. She was a member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. John, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Other interests included knitting, bowling and playing cards.

She is survived by a son, Charles (Diane) Ridulph of Sycamore; two daughters, Patricia (William) Quinn of Morris and Kay (Lawrence) Hickey of Malta; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Elmer Fenner; a daughter, Maria Ridulph, in 1957; her husband, Michael; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Tyrrell.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 12, at The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. John, 26555 Brickville Road, Sycamore, IL 60178, with the Rev. Robert Weinhold officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home.

A memorial fund is established for The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. John Ladies Aid or for the Christian Senior Ministries in care of Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL 60178.
