He first appeared on stage in 1921 on the Boulevardtheater Schauburg in Hannover. First movie in 1930 as 'Conny Coon' in "Dolly macht Karriere." In his 48 years career he appeared in more than 200 movies. Among them, "Die grosse Sehnsucht" (1930), "Das Testament des Dr. Mabuse" (1933), "Der Mustergatte" (1956), and many more. In 1944 Lingen migrated to Austria and became a citizen. The last 20 years of his life he was a member of the "Wiener Burgtheater." (bio by: The Romancer)
