James Kitchener was the second born child and son of William James Kitchener and his wife Elizabeth Marshall Kitchener. He was born 8 Oct 1862 in Islington, London, England. In 1871 the family emigrated to Toronto, Ontario Canada.
He was a house decorator. On 18 July 1888 he married Hannah Lucas in Toronto, Ontario they became the parents of three children. Sadly only one of the baby girls survived past infancy. Her name was Constance but she went by the name of Nellie... Nellie married a physician Charles MacGray and they had 5 children.
Unfortunately Hannah passed away at a very young age and eventually James remarried to a Ada Rebecca Banfield on 4 Apr 1900 in Toronto. He and Ada had 5 children but only 2 of them lived. One of which was his only son James Marshall Kitchener. The other was named after her mother Ada Banfield Kitchener.
