Civil War Veteran. Enlisted on August 23, 1861, and mustered on November 19, 1861, into Company D, 1st Regiment, Vermont Cavalry (Union). Enlistment Rank: Blacksmith. Discharged for wounds on October 29, 1862, at Fort Scott, Virginia. Filed for Invalid Pension on November 26, 1879 (Application No. 323,852 and Certificate No. 231,965). Was a resident of the U.S., National Homes for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Togus, Maine in 1904. His Widow applied for a pension on November 27, 1909 from the state of NH; application # 931,153.
