On July 12, 1958, he married Georgia Johnson. They have made their home in Gruver, Texas since 1970. He worked as an accountant for many years before retiring in 1996 from JMJ Land Company in Gruver. He served the Lord in many capacities at the First Baptist Church in Gruver: deacon, Sunday school teacher, church treasurer, and a member of the building & grounds committee. During the last seven years Fred and Georgia actively served the Top of Texas Area as Mission Service Corps Consultants, the volunteer arm of the Southern Baptists. He will be remembered for his great character -- loyal, honest, and just.
He is preceded in death by his parents & father-in-law, Lowell "Squidge" Johnson. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, grandchildren, a sister & brother, & his mother-in-law.
