John Wesley Allen was a son of John Karah Allen and Mary L. Walker. He was a grandson of Joseph Allen and Mary Margaret Murphy, and, Thomas Walker and Bettie Langley. He was my great granduncle.
On Dec. 9, 1896 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Elizabeth Burnett.

John W. Allen Died at Home in Millersburg Monday Afternoon, Funeral Service Tuesday
John Wesley Allen, 66 years old, a native of Callaway county, died at 3:00 o'clock Monday afternoon at his home at Millersburg after a serious illness of three days from heart trouble. He had been in failing health for two years.
A funeral service was conducted at the Millersburg Christian Church at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. B.C. Abam, of Columbia, and burial was in Millersburg cemetery.
Mr. Allen was born in the Dixie neighborhood, January 8, 1864, his parents being the late John K. and Mary Walker Allen, natives of Kentucky. Mr. Allen spent his entire life as a farmer of Callaway county. He was married December 21, 1896 to Miss Elizabeth Burnett, also of the Dixie community. Mrs. Allen with one son, Rovira Allen, west of Millersburg, in Boone County, survive. On grandson, John Ward Allen, also survives. Mr. Allen was a member of the Central Christian Church.
