Timothy Hallahan, one of the oldest residents of the city, died at his home on Winthrop Street this morning after a long illness. For many years Mr. Hallahan was employed in the street department of the city and was always considered a most faithful and conscientious employee who never shirked his duty but performed his work as best he knew. He had a host of friends here who will learn of his demise with regret, and the sympathy of all will go forth to the bereaved family. A few years ago Mr. Hallahan and his devoted wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and it was an event long to be remembered by all who participated in the hospitalities of the occasion and greeted the venerable couple at the same time remembering them with numerous gifts. The infirmities of age had been bearing down upon Mr. Hallahan for some time and he was unable to withstand the disease which attacked his weakened system. The deceased leaves several children to mourn his loss, including Jeremiah, Thomas, William, John, Misses Sadie, Katie and Mrs. O'Keefe.
