She was born July 7, 1919 in Eckley, Colorado to William F. and Metha (Schlobohm) Frerichs. Dorothy moved with her family to Englewood, where she was raised and attended school graduating from Englewood High School in 1938.
On March 29, 1951 she married Edwin Greenwald at Grace Lutheran Church in Englewood.
She was employed at the Colorado National Bank of Denver for 42 years.
Dorothy has lived in Longmont for about 20 years. She enjoyed reading, doing fancy embroidery work and sewing, having made her own cloths for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother William G. (Budd) Frerichs and husband Ed in 1986.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Eileen (husband Ken) Stewart of Crossville, Tennessee, two nephews Douglas (wife Cheryl) Stewart of Oxford, Michigan and Christopher (wife Generose) Stewart of Savannah, Georgia and great nephews and great nieces Logan, Connor and Kendall Stewart, Kaitlyn Potorski, Ashley and Noah Szymanski.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00am; followed by a funeral service at 11, Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties can be sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
