Second Lieutenant Andrews was a navigator/bombardier of a B-24J Liberator bomber. He was lost over France on December 11, 1944 and was awarded the Purple Heart. His remains were identified and returned for burial on September 10, 2001. His burial is also recorded at Arlington National Cemetery.

Perished aboard U.S. Army Air Corps B-24J Liberator #42-50453 when it collided with B-24H #42-95291 over Zinswiller, Alsace, France. Remains recovered in 1998. Interred Arlington National Cemetery.
