Henry A. Burris, 84, of 1103 N. 9th St., a self employed cement contractor, and a retired employee of the State of Illinois, retiring five years ago, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at Rutledge Manor.
A resident of Springfield for 70 years, Mr. Burris was born in Kentucky.
He was a member of South Seventh Street Assembly of God Church.
A son, Harold, died during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Ada; three sons, Alvin Burris, of Springfield; Elmer Burris of Los Angeles, Calif.; and William Burris, of Peoria; two stepsons, Carl and Frank Huffman, both of Springfield; one sister, Mrs. Ada Miller, of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Services were at Bisch Memorial Home.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
