This is the 4th greatgrandfather of Scharmal Veronica Triesch ConleyGIVEN NAME IS SEBASTIAN, but he was known as Boston. Boston Graves was a blacksmith and a Revolutionary War soldier, a private in Capt. William Rogers' company of Col. William O'Neil's regiment of Orange County, N.C. troops (DAR lineage book, vol. 100, page 38)... Was captured by the British and held for eleven months and later exchanged. His name appears in a list of Revolutionary pensioners published in King's Mountain Men, 1924. His application for pension, filed Aug. 23, 1832, gives his age as 85, the name of his wife as Sarah; states that he was born in Pennsylvania Oct. 1, 1747, moved to Orange County, N.C., where he was drafted in 1779. Married Sarah Ephland (Efland)d/o Peter and Catherine Efland. Children: Catherine m. Wm. Sharp, Elizabeth m. David Clapp, Mary m. George Troutt, Daniel, John, George, Henry, David, Peter.

Gravesite Details

In this cemetery are small headstones (unable to read) and some graves marked only w/standing rocks. Two markers read John Graves and wife Mary. Believe this to be Boston's son John who m. Mary Troutt. Another reads J. Graves d. 8/5/1854
