Funeral services for Silva Luther Strickland, 65, of 5518 E. Xyler St., Tulsa Oklahoma, a retired landscape gardener, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday Apr 16, 1958, in the Sheridan Road Baptist church.
Mr. Strickland, who had lived in Tulsa Oklahoma off and on for the past 40 years, died Sunday in a Tulsa hospital. Born in Newton County, Arkansas, he was a member of the Baptist church. He retired two years ago due to ill health and since that time a son, Lee Strickland, has been operating his father's business. Mr. Strickland worked for Spartan Aircraft Company during World War II.
Other survivors include the widow Bessie Strickland; two other sons, Earl Strickland, Washington state and Robert J. Strickland, 4945 E. Easton St; three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Wells, Tulare California, Mrs. Nadine Klaus, 7340 E. Newton Place and Mrs. Virginia King, Fort Smith Arkansas; two brothers, John Strickland, 5538 E. Xyler St, and Honder Strickland, Spokane Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Mittie Hunter, Tulsa; Mrs. Thelma Odgen, Coronado California; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
