George W. Griffis died at 9:34 o’clock Saturday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Baer, 2004 Scott Street. He had been an invalid for seven years and was bedfast for four months. Mr. Griffis was born in Oskaloosa, Ia., November 15, 1853, and on June 28, 1875, united in marriage with Rebecca J. Martin. To this union four children were born: Mrs. Charles Baer and Mrs. Frank Roudebush of Lafayette, Emery G. Griffis, Rossville, and Charles H. Griffis, of Stockwell . He is also survived by seven grandchildren. Mr. Griffis lived for many years on a farm near Concord. For the past five yeas, however, he made his home with hid daughter, Mrs. Baer. He was a member of the U. B. church at Concord. Funeral services will be conducted from the U. B. church at concord at 10:30 o’clock Tuesday morning. Rev. J. W. Miller, pastor of the Grace U. B. Church, will officiate, and burial will be in the Concord Cemetery. Friends may view the body at the Rogers and Smith Funeral home until 9;30 O’CLOCK Tuesday morning.
