Death of Mrs. Sutton.
Margaret Elizabeth Stewart was born in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, July 24, 1851, and died at her home in Strang, Neb., March 7, 1917, aged 65 years, 7 months and 11 days.
When she was about two years old her parents moved to Scott county, Iowa, where they resided about twelve years, thence removing to the northern part of Thayer county, Nebraska to a homestead.
At the age of about thirty years she was married to T. W. Sutton of Davenport, Neb., who died six years later. About eighteen years ago she moved to Strang and lived here continuously until her death.
She leaves to mourn her death one brother, William B. Stewart of Strang, three nephews and four nieces, Walter, Verley, Eva and Pearl Stewart and Mrs. Tom Hall of Strang, Arthur of Belvidere and Mrs. Ralph Merideth of Wells, Neb. Her parents and four brothers preceded her to the better world. At an early age she was converted and joined the Presbyterian church. She remained a member of this church until she moved to Davenport, when she joined the Christian church, her husband being a member there.
Since coming to Strang she never attended church much as she had the care of her invalid mother until her death four years ago, since which time she had not been strong. Whenever she could, she attended the United Brethren church. We have every reason to believe she was a good woman and have no doubt but today she is happy with the loved ones who have gone before.
The funeral took place from the United Brethren church in Strang, Friday at 2 p.m. and was conducted by Rev. W. D. Bradley, the pastor, assisted by Rev. G. I. Reeves. The interment was in the Harmony cemetery.
Card of Thanks.
We desire to express our sincere gratitude to the many kind friends who in any way rendered assistance to us during our bereavement; also to the choir for the beautiful songs, and to the members of the United Brethren church for the way the church was decorated and to those who gave the beautiful flowers.
