DEATH OF JAMES YARDLEY

He Was an Old and Respected Resident of Yolo

James Yardley, an old settler of Yolo county, died at the county hospital Thursday night from heart trouble, with which he had been afflicted for some time. He had been an inmate of the hospital at intervals for several years and was admitted the last time on the 11th of this month. Mr. Yardley was not an indigent, as he had a little money and always paid a reasonable sum every month to the county for his maintenance.

The deceased was an old settler in Yolo county, having conducted a livery business at Knights Landing for many years. He afterwards engaged in farming. He was always held in the highest esteem, and he leaves many friends who will be pained to hear of his death.

James Yardley was 70 years of age and a native of Kentucky. His wife died several years ago, and the only relative he leaves is a son, H.E. Yardley, a druggist in Sacramento.

The funeral will take place at Knights Landing Sunday morning at 10 o'clock.
