A Solemn Requiem High Mass was held for Mrs. Anna Woeste at the St. Andrew's church in Greenwald on Saturday. Rev. Leo Brandl was the celebrant assisted by rev. Wilfred Illies and Rev. Alfred Stangl.
Crossbearer was Miss Pauline Korf. honorary pallbearers were Mmes. Mary Korf. Leo Schwieters, Art Braun, Paul Schaefer, William Marthaler and Joseph Leukam.
Active pallbearers were Arthur Braun, William Marthaler, Celestine Uphoff, Leo Schwieters, Paul Schaefer and Ted Wurst.
Mrs. Woeste, age 87, died Wednesday, August 19th at her home in Greenwald. She was born in Meire Grove, December 1, 1876 and lived in the Greenwald-Meire Grove area all of her life. She married John Woeste September 4, 1892 at St. John's church in Meire Grove. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1953.
Surviving are these children: Mrs. Anna Weinmann, Elrosa; Frank, Long Prairie; Mrs. Gregor Voit (Elizabeth), Melrose; Mrs. Tillie Ostendorf, Grey Eagle; Mrs. Alphonse Lieser (Ceil), Clara City; Mrs. Ellert Huismann (Josephine), Bell, California; Mrs. Roman Voit (Sally), Albany; Sylvester, Casper, John and Joseph, all of Greenwald. there are 58 grandchildren, 139 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. She had 221 direct descendants that survive.
