Pioneer Orange City Man Dies Monday
John Van Klompenburg Sr. passed away at his home on Monday March 10 at 3:30 P.M. at the age of 84 yrs, 4 mos and 18 days.
He was united in marriage to Dirkje Mulder on Feb. 27, 1890.
To this union were born 10 children. They are John, Bellflower, Calif., Ike of Maurice, Grace (Mrs. Edward Vellinga), Rock Rapids, Gerrit, Rena, Henry and William, all of Orange City and Dick of Alton.
He was preceded in death by a son who died in infancy and Jacob, born March 10, 1895, died Aug. 5, 1951.
Surviving are 33 grandchildren and and 6 great grandchildren.
He also leaves to mourn, 2 sisters, Mrs. Albert Stuart, Orange City and Mrs. Levi Sinnema, Twin Falls, Idaho, Mrs. Andrew Sinnema, another sister preceded him in death.
The funeral services will be held on Thursday March 13 at 1 o’clock at the home and 2 o’clock at the First Reformed Church with Rev. Henry Colenbrander officiating.
