Al Leite Sr., who retired in 1996 after 30 years as a shipping clerk at Grove Valve &

Regulation Co., died at an Oakland hospital. He was 65.

The Hilo, Hawaii, native lived in San Pablo for 24 years.

Hobbies: Woodwork and working on cars.

Survivors: Wife of 42 years, Mary Helen; daughter, Sylvia Leite of San Pablo; sons, Alfred S.

Leite Jr. of Benicia and Daniel Leite of San Pablo; sisters, Thelma Ferriara of Sacramento,

Margaret Andrade, Lorraine Jacobs and Jackie Leite, all of Middletown; brothers, Milton Leite

of San Leandro, Manuel Leite Jr. of Middletown, Clyde Leite of Florida and Donald Leite of

Hawaii; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services: 7:30 p.m. rosary Wednesday at Wilson & Kratzer in San Pablo, and 10:30 a.m. funeral

Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church in San Pablo, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in San

Pablo. Visitation, 1-9 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
