Clifton H. BERNARD
Passed away in Santa Rosa on June 11, 2013 at the age of 75. Born and raised in Norman, OK, he was a 57 year resident of Santa Rosa. Cliff is lovingly survived by his children Ted (Jeni) Bernard of San Ramon, Julie and Jen, Bill (Rosemary) Bernard, Maria (Morgan) Bernard-Miller and Dann Bernard, all of Santa Rosa; grandchildren Danielle, Jake, Justin, Randy, William, Alyssa, Billie, Serina, Layla, Derek, Collin, Talya and Karissa and great grandchildren Emery and Dakota. He is also survived by his former wife of 23 years Carolyn, whom he met on a visit to Norman, OK., married her and drove back with her to California. He loved antique cars and cherished his 1929 Ford Model A that he kept since he was in high school. He loved restoring cars and was very mechanically inclined. He could build, repair or operate just about anything. He loved playing softball and had fond memories as the pitcher for his school's fastpitch softball team. He continued to play softball later in life and coached his sons and daughter in Little League baseball. He was actively involved as a volunteer with Westside Little League Baseball for many years. He moved to Santa Rosa shortly after high school, and worked for Kaiser Sand & Gravel as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for 35 years. He was a member of the Teamster's Union. He also loved music, playing the fiddle and enjoyed Cajun music. He served in the California National Guard. Proud of his Oklahoma heritage, and a Sooner Fan to his core, he was also proud of his Indian heritage.
