Family-Placed Death Notice

AFFALTER, Arthur Mr. Arthur "Art" Affalter, age 92 of Marietta, died Sunday September 21, 2008. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at King Springs Baptist Church with Rev. James Auten and Dr. Marc Bramlett officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Affalter lived in Cobb County since 1965. He worked as an Accountant for Ritz Carlton for 15 years. Mr. Affalter started and franchised the first Waffle House in Cobb County in 1965, working with them about 12 years. He served in the Army Medical Corp. during WWII in Northwest Africa.

Mr. Affalter was preceded in death by Son Richard Darrell Affalter.

Survivors Include: Wife- Martha Affalter of Marietta, Daughters and Sons in Law- Rebecca and Ed Mueller of Travelers Rest, S.C., Deborah Affalter of Atlanta, Cynthia and John Johnson of Mableton, 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, Constant Companion-Shadow.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna.

Those who wish may make contributions to the King Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
