Carol L. Hinchman, 72, Route 1, Parker City, died Sunday, March 31, 1991, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after an extended illness.
She was born in August 1918, in Hancock County, the daughter of Curtis and Ruth (Lain) Groves and was a homemaker. She moved to Parker City in 1945 with her late husband, Dr. Jean Hinchman. She was a member of the Parker City United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women's Group. She taught Sunday school at the church for many years and played piano for the church choir. She worked as a volunteer Docent at the Ministerial Cultural Center in Muncie for the past several years.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Ruth (Mrs. Jack) Hibner of Brownsburg; one son, Max F. Hinchman of Berkley, Calif; two grandsons, Tony H. and Andy H. Hibner, both of Brownsburg; and two granddaughters, Lora and Katie Prehara, both of Markleville.
He was preceded in death by her husband in 1985 and one daughter Patricia Prehara in 1982.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Parker City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Knight officiating. Entombment will follow at the Garden of Memory Mausoleum, north of Muncie.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Thornburg Funeral Home, St. Road 32, between Farmland and Parker City, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Parker City United Methodist Church or the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
