Dr. Jean F. Hinchman, 67, Parker City physician, died Tuesday evening, December 3, 1985 at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, following an apparent heart attack.
Born at Geneva, he was the son of late. Dr. C.P. and Nellie Shortridge Hinchman. He started his medical practice in Parker City in 1948 after his internship and residence in Muncie and continued this practice until November 29. H was a veteran of World War II, serving as a flight surgeon with the U.S. Army in Germany and was a former pilot with an advanced aviation rating.
Hinchman was a charter member and past president of the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians, was a member of the Delaware-Blackford County Medical Society and was a member of the staff at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Parker City Methodist Church, the Parker City Masonic Lodge No. 630, the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and the Delaware Country Club.
He was a director of the Parker Banking Company. Hinchman was a member of the American Radio Relay League and as a ham operator had contacted almost every free nation in the world.
Surviving are the widow, Carol Groves Hinchman; one son, Max of San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Linda) Hibner of Brownsburg; four grandchildren; one brother, Wayne of Winchester; three nieces. One daughter Patricia Prehara, preceded him in death in 1982.
