Recitation of the Rosary for Norma (Spohn) Michener, 56, a resident of Antioch for 37 years, will be held at 8 p.m. tomorrow at Higgins Funeral Chapel.
She died today at Delta Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness.
She was a member of Young Ladies Institute 101 of Antioch and the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
A native of Strang, Nebraska, she married the late Bill Spohn at the age of 19 and moved immediately to Antioch. She was a butcher for Purity Stores here and later helped found the Keep-U-Neat Cleaners on A Street.
She is survived by her husband John I. Michener; two daughters, Mrs. Sheila Shelton and Mrs. Sylvia Head, both of Antioch; two sons, Richard Spohn of Sun Valley, Idaho and Greg Spohn of Antioch; her father, Thomas E. Hall of Geneva, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Mable Ward and Mrs. Hazel Tatro, both of Geneva, Nebraska and six grandchildren.
Requiem Mass will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the family plot at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette.
Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Heart Fund.
Pallbearers include Charley Shelton, Don Cotten, Gene Head, Gus Favalora, Jay Wilcox, Lou Silvera, Harry Steele and Ray DeGallery.
