Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota with Msgr. Carlton Hermann officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton.
Betty was born May 6, 1934 near St. Helena, Nebraska to Fred Bernard and Regina R (Schmidt) Becker. She attended grade school in St. Helena and also Kerloo Country School near Coleridge, Nebraska. Betty then attended high school in St. Helena. She worked as a nurses aide at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton and as a waitress at Our Place Café in Yankton.
On June 27, 1955, Betty married Walter Allan Sayler in Yankton. After their marriage, they lived in Milford, Nebraska for a short time and then moved northeast of Lesterville back to the farm where her husband grew up. She raised four children and was always busy working around the farm and in the house.
She was a member of the St. John's Altar Society and the Lesterville Community Club. Betty enjoyed sewing and loved the company of her grandchildren and her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband on May 6, 2008 at the age of 76; and three brothers: Lawrence, Vernon and Erwin "Bud" Becker.
